Last night was the weekly meeting of my writing group at our local library. I specifically decided to join for accountability purposes - I need to know I've written something during the week and deadlines really work for me!
As well, it gives me an opportunity about once a month to read to the other members the most recent segment of the book I've been working on, Star Many Says… an Introduction. And there's an ulterior motive as well. It's an opportunity for me to become more comfortable in telling, speaking, my story to people who are not familiar with energy medicine, expanded realities, channelled transmissions, Shamanic practices - things I consider a part of my everyday life.
That said, I truly am looking for insights into the writing process, hearing what works and what doesn't as they listen to me. Can they follow the narrative thread? Is the writing too much? Too little? How’s my grammar? But every time I read to the group members there are always questions asked from sheer curiosity and a struggle to understand the how, what and why of Star Many.
One group member, months ago, asked if I was trying to convince her that what I talked and wrote about was real. What a good question!! And I could honestly answer “No. I'm not trying to convince any of you of any of this. This ismy reality and I'm trying in the simplest most direct way to tell my story of what has been happening in my life. I made a commitment to help Star Many reach out to a large audience and writing a book is one way to do this.”
And writing this blog is another. Please help - please share!!
